2008 CT COLT Fall Conference
at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford

Passport to Proficiency

(For more information about the Connecticut Convention Center, please visit www.ctconventions.com.)

Dear Members,

This year CT COLT is excited to announce that our Fall Conference will be held once again at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford on October 27th, 2008. With its spectacular 110-foot glass atrium and dramatic views of the Connecticut River, this state-of-the-art convention center is a truly impressive and, indeed, appropriate venue for the largest professional conference for World Language teachers in the state. New and interesting presentations will take place in large, luxurious meeting rooms. In addition, the 2008 Fall Conference Planning Committee would like to welcome participants to a warm, sit-down lunch where they can network with other professionals and discuss ideas together.

With its exceptional amenities, the selection of this conference site was made with the dedicated World Language teachers of the state in mind. The Fall Conference Planning Committee therefore encourages you and your colleagues to attend the 2008 conference with its theme of "Passport to Proficiency". Your presence as a presenter or a participant is very valuable to all of your colleagues.

To submit a proposal, simply go to the CT COLT web site at http://www.ctcolt.org and click on "Fall Conference". The workshop proposal form will be posted on the website in early April.

Please see the information below regarding the structure of the registration fees and deadlines. CT COLT has come to an agreement with the Connecticut Convention Center in which CT COLT will pay all parking fees. Fall Conference attendees will be offered FREE PARKING in the Connecticut Convention Center garage until one hour after the end of the conference. We suggest that you carpool if at all possible.

We are planning to send out the fall conference brochure with workshop listings in late June or early July.  Since the registration rates will be structured by postmark date (see below), it is important that you register early and PAY LESS!  Since at this year's conference, we will have a sit-down dinner for the luncheon, we recommend very strongly that people PRE-REGISTER for the conference and NOT wait to register onsite. Onsite registration will add a $30.00 surcharge to your registration fee.

Thank you,
