Coordinators of Foreign Languages in Connecticut

COFLIC is a networking group of coordinators and supervisors of foreign languages in the state of Connecticut.  This group meets three times during the school year to discuss topics related to world language supervision, funding, program evaluation, assessment, ways to address teacher shortage in our curricular area, and advocacy.

During the 2005-2006 school year, members were able to receive CEUs for supervisors by attending workshops related to foreign language graduation requirements and Alternate Route to Certification.  We also explored foreign language enrollment trends, and data collection through common assessments.

Our first meeting for the 06-07 school year was held on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at the CEA Headquarters. The meeting was very well attended.  We invite you to our next meeting which will be held on December 6, 2006.

Please contact COFLIC Chair, Jaya Vijayasekar at jaya.vijayasekar@vernonct.org for registration and more information.
